Awards season has officially begun and with it an endless parade of sequins, bowties and self tanner. Let’s get started shall we?
Lea Michelle in Elie Saab – Speaking of self tanner… This dress is actually quite pretty and the shoes are a nice change from the usual stripper heels. Well done miss.
Jim Parsons in Giorgio Armani – Very nice double breasted jacket, but it’s a little tight. Bazinga!
Claire Danes in Versace and Hugh Dancy in Burberry Prorsum – Absolute perfection. Can we just take a moment to appreciate that this girl had a baby only a few weeks ago? The hair, the makeup and the dress are all flawless. And he’s adorable.
Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture – This girl is on fire! I know that was an easy one but whatever, she is fierce and she knows it. I’ve heard comments on how the bust of this dress looked kind of funny but the truth is it suits her perfectly. Don’t be jealous, it’s unbecoming.
Jeremy Renner in Dior Homme – Looking dapper, as usual. Love the fact that he went for dark blue instead of black.
Sarah Hyland in Max Azria Atelier – She looks like mini Sofia Vergara.
Amanda Seyfreid in Givenchy – Though blush tones are a huge trend right now they aren’t exactly what I’d call flattering. The dress is pretty enough but between the hair, her skin tone and the dress, she’s completely washed out.
Kaley Cuoco in Zuhair Murad – Colour aside this dress is beautiful, but her makeup is way too harsh.
Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad – This woman just gets better with age. Love the detailing and the fit.
Jodie Foster in Armani Prive – Lady looks striking. Colour of the dress really brings out the colour of her eyes.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus in Vera Wang – This dress looked better on TV than it does in pictures, but she still looks beautiful.
Kate Hudson in Alexander McQueen. – Fierce! That is all.
Katharine McPhee in Theysken’s Theory – There are a lot of ups and downs in this picture. The dress has a gorgeous neckline but the hem is at an awkward length. Her hair looks like she forgot to shower and put it in a messy bun, but the makeup is flawless. Oh, and she’s wearing stripper shoes.
Naomi Watts in Zac Posen Studio with Liev Schreiber – Beautiful colour and style on her. She looks great.
Lucy Liu in Carolina Herrera – By far the best dressed of the night! It’s not just anyone who can rock a bold floral print ,but Liu hits this one out of the park. And who doesn’t love a ball gown with pockets? Hair and makeup are equally perfect.
Megan Fox in Versace – Another blushing mermaid. Boring.
Michelle Dockery in Alex Vauthier – Original and gorgeous. Love it.
Taylor Swift In Donna Karan Atelier – She does look beautiful but this dress is just way too wrinkled. The ceremony is in a hotel. Rent a room and have them bring up a steamer. Voila! Problem solved!
Zooey Deschanel in Oscar De La Renta – Of course. It’s great, but expected.
Jessica Chastain in Calvin Klein – The thing about this dress is it should have been perfect for her. It’s a great colour and a beautiful skirt but as soon as you go north of the waist it all gets kind of saggy. All her stylist had to do was hike up the front, tie a behind her neck and poof! Girl would have looked much better.
Julianne Moore in Tom Ford – She is the epitome of elegance.
Lena Dunham in Zac Posen – I really wish this girl would employ a stylist. She’s very pretty and in the right hands she can look down right stunning (for proof please Google her photo shoot with Terry Richardson). Apparently Zac Posen dressed her himself but it just isn’t working. The neckline and bodice fit well but the skirt is too wide and stiff. A sleeker silhouette would have suited her better.
Marion Cotillard in Dior Haute Couture – I like that she went simple with the hair and make. Anything more would have only overwhelmed the dress, which is a stunning colour on her. The shoes are awful though.
Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig both in in Louis Vuitton – He is taking this James Bond thing to another level and she looks like she bought this dress at Forever 21.
Tina Fey in L’wren Scott and Amy Poehler in Stella McCartney – The hostesses with the mostess(es?). I’m declaring this a personal best for Fey. She looks beautiful. Poehler just looks hot, but I hate the shoes.
Anne Hathaway in Chanel – Simple and lovely. I have to say that since the Les Mis promo tour has begun Annie has been stepping up her wardrobe game in a major way. Also, she was breathtaking as Fantine, so either way it’s a win.
Robert Downey Jr. – I never get tired of this man. Love the teal bow tie.
Amy Adams in Marchesa – This might actually a blush tone I could get behind but only because of the dramatic silhouette.
Kerry Washington in Mui Mui – This dress is really interesting but definitely not right for the Golden Globes. After all the high fashion looks she’s been rocking while out promoting Django Unchained, this is a bit of a let down. Side note – nude shoes should be banned everywhere.
Nicole Kidman in Alexander McQueen – The dress is really interesting but the drab hair and makeup just brings it all down.
Adele in Burberry Prorsum– There’s no arguing eith the fact that Miss Adele looks very pretty here, but looking at this picture I can’t help but think that this is exactly what I expected from her. I’m curious to see what she’d look like if she ditched the retro look and went for something different.
Ariel Winter in Maison Valentino – This girl is adorable and what’s better is that she actually dresses for her age. The matching headband and shoes thing is a bit tired but overall she looks great.
Debra Messing in Donna Karan – Dracula’s curtains.
Emily Blunt in Michael Kors and John Krasinski in Prada – If this dress had been any other colour this might have worked better, as it stands it doesn’t really do much for her.
Halle Berry in Atelier Versace – Angeline and a bedsheet. Not impressed.
Helen Mirren in Badgley Mischka – She. Looks. Incredible. ‘Nuff said.
