What do all Vogue-worshipping Montrealers have in common? They live for the delicious taste of runway heaven that accompanies Montreal’s annual fashion week. In the same vein as the seasonal New York, Milan and Paris shows (just on a smaller scale), the events presented by P&G Beauty and Sensation Mode usually cause quite a stir  – serving as the daily nourishment of glitterati and style savants alike.

This year, MFW13 was held from Tuesday September 4 to Friday September 7. Runway shows have taken place at Marché Bonsecours for the last several years. However, 2012 marked the beginning of a new venue, the unapologetically underground yet glamorous L’Arsenal, located at 2020 William. The shows were numerous, with designers like Betina Lou, Marie Saint Pierre, Travis Taddeo,  Denis Gagnon, and even Rudsak stealing the runway. The guests were stunning (no surprise there). Let’s just say that when it comes to fashion, Montrealers know how to turn it out.

Here is a look at one of Friday night’s runway shows, featuring the ever-classy and girly looks of miss Rachel Sin.

About Sophia Loffreda

Sophia Loffreda is a Concordia Journalism graduate, based in Montreal. When she’s not writing or editing for TCP, she works at a Media company, and as a fitness trainer and freelance documentary filmmaker. A self-diagnosed television junkie, Sophia enjoys camera work, photography, layout design, and scriptwriting. She's also working on writing a sitcom with two of her closest and most sarcastic friends. One day they hope to be something like Shonda Rhimes or Tina Fey. Realistic, we know. For now, she’ll settle for reading her bible (Vanity Fair) and admiring genius (Woody Allen). Her other interests include art, pop culture, travel, cooking, reading, soccer, yoga, and running with her four-year-old dog, Charlie.
