The first day of fall is closing in on us and I am nostalgic for the sea, fresh fruit and white bikinis.

This summer I traveled to Italy to teach, write, and wander. I could spend a lifetime exploring this small country that has always struck me as being a world of its own. From the Bergamese mountains, magical castles isolated in Puglia’s countryside, and the crystal clear waters of the Calabrian coast, these 44 photographs represent only a fraction of the beauty I encountered on my journey.

To anyone who has ever gone somewhere and fallen in love with the world all over again because of it- this entry is dedicated to you.
